Hopefully you read "My Story" before this page.  If not, please take the time to read that first and return.

I like to believe this is the 'practice what you preach' section.

After I had reached the lowest point in my life, I realized what was important to me.  I decided to place my profile on a very well know dating site.  This may not be exact, but went something along the lines like this:

Here are the things that  I like to do: camping, hiking, traveling, going to the movies, motorcycle riding, rafting, kayaking, fishing, reading books, sitting by a fire.

If you are affraid of getting dirty, of bugs, of being outside, of being spontaneous, and do not like the above activities, please do
NOT contact me!

Well, Martina contacted me, and two weeks later we were hiking together in the Smoky Mountains.

Ironically, it was on this hiking trip that I experienced a complete retina detachment in my left eye (blind in that eye for the 2nd time).  We had to hike out early so that I could get back to see an eye surgeon.  The result was I had to face straight down for 2 weeks to allow the surgery to re-attach my retina.

Martina took care of me the entire 2 weeks, driving an hour from her town to where I was.

So ...

At a time when I was losing everything, including my sight, she was there fore me, with me.

I knew at that moment she was there because we enjoyed the time we spent together instead materialistic reasons.

Move ahead some years and I knew I wanted to spend the rest of my life with her, and asked her to marry me in a completely unusual way.  I wrote how I felt about her and asked her to marry me in a birthday card.

She said yes, and the rest is history.

We have now spent many crazy years together and looking at our future together and the many more adventures to come!!!!!

This backgroud picture is one of those surreal experiences:
Howe Lake in Glacier National Park.
